Iwai Tradition Sherry Cask Whisky is a blended whisky produced by Mars Shinshu Distillery in Nagano, Japan. Distilled from 70% malted barley and 30% corn, this non-age statement whisky was aged in ex-bourbon, sherry, and wine casks before being finished for over 11 months in Pedro XimĂ©nez sherry casks. The resulting spirit displays aromas of brown sugar, cacao, and black cherry with a fruity and confectionary palate of dried apricot, lemon poppyseed cake, orange peel, and nutmeg. The Pedro XimĂ©nez finishing casks provide an influence indicative of the prized sherryâs concentrated sugars and robust, oxidized fruit notes. 40% ABV. Limited US release of 540 bottles.
